President's Welcome     2/11/2023 updated

  On behalf of the officers of the Northern New Jersey Cachers (NNJC), a non-profit geocaching organization, come join the fun event.

​Its hard to believe this year will be the 9th Metro Gathering Mega Event, it should be our 10th, but lets not talk about life in 2020.  Our first year was in 2014 in Union County which we pulled off producing this new event in less the 5 months after HQ's approval. We spent the next 5 years at a larger venue at Waterloo Village which we produced some great themes, Historic Canal, Headless Horseman, Witches of Salem, and Pirates of  Port Royal. In 2021 we moved the Mega Event to a new location with our Middlesex County Partners at
historic East Jersey Old Town.

We launched the NJ American Revolution Geo Trail the fall of 2020, a journey of historic discovery
across NJ state as we continue to add more historic locations.

We continued to embrace NJ's American Revolution with mega themes.  The August 7th 2021 NJ's American Revolution War history and the June 18, 2022 Washington's Spies. Both 
at the historic East Jersey Old Town.

In 2021 besides "Golden Tickets", we added a new game called "Capture The Flag", to find an American flag pathtag and pre order a limited coin. These were different hunts and both rewarded with a cool limited Geocoin. In 2022 we continued the search for "Golden Spy Notes" and "Capture the Spy".

In June 17th, 2023 we will be back at East Jersey Old Town with a new theme;
"Greeting from New Jersey: A post card journey"!

The 2023 Mega event theme will showcase New Jersey’s heritage with 
"Greetings from New Jersey: A Postcard journey of the Garden State". 
The state is featured with many national and state parks, historical sites, resorts, museums, harbor towns, entertainment spots like the Jersey shore and Atlantic City. There are also some amazing Weird NJ stories out there, so lets take a postcard journey across the Garden State!

Everyone is welcome to come join The Pre~Metro Gathering Mega Meet and Greet located at this scenic historic property in Middlesex County NJ. Come and get into the American Patriot spirit, as the NJ's American Revolution Mega as the party starts the night before the big day.
PLEASE BRING POT LUCK FOOD AND DRINKS TO SHARE ~ BRING A CHAIR/TABLE TOO.
This event is outside on the lawn of this historic location, we will have some pop ups but limited on seating. We will keep the list of donated food for the picnic. Please post how many will attend and what you can bring to the picnic. Thank you!
Spend time to geo-chat, trackable exchanging and a chance to meet geocachers new to the area who have traveled to the event. Whether you are in the area seeking the numerous caches, interested in meeting new faces and welcoming them to NJ, hungry , or just need a place to unwind and relax - this is your opportunity.
