Why is this event called the "Metro Gathering Event"?
The entire region of New Jersey, parts on NY, PA, CT, and DE are considered a metropolitan area, the current event name "Metro Gathering" is branded for the Mega event with Geocaching HQ and we will continue to use the name for this regional event.
The Metro Gathering event is located within the "metropolitan area" and managed by volunteers throughout the entire metropolitan area which include event managers and volunteers from both Northern New Jersey Cachers (NNJC), Central Jersey Caching (CJC) CT, DE, NY and Pa clubs.

New Jersey is an entirely metropolitan state (a distinction it shares only with much-smaller Rhode Island) in that every one of New Jersey’s 21 counties is part of one metro area or another.
